In my first three months as a life coach, my services were offered to former coworkers, fellow church members, and others in the community at no cost. I met with individuals or groups a couple of sessions a month, and in return, a few of them referred paying coaching clients to me. As a result, I was able to show my expertise and give prospective clients a taste of what to expect as we progressed. Offering complimentary coaching sessions also enables coaches to see if they and their prospective clients are a good match before a coaching agreement is signed.
